moving away from phones

the compulsion to look at one’s phone can have deeply embedded neural pathways, and for many, mobile phones feel like an extension of oneself.  in this workshop for humans ages 14 and over , we explore embodied strategies to “re-wire” ourselves into the present moment and embodied experiences of being alive.

skills and experience offered:

>  examine the effects of screen time and texting on one’s posture and anatomy
>  develop concentration and deeper capacity to focus on tasks, oneself and loved ones    
>  building connection and trust in one’s own body with ease
>  introduction to intuitive movement with cinema antiplastique
>  warm up and cool down exercises which can be used at home
>  connecting with oneself in a calming and quiet studio  
>  healing time for working class people, bipoc people, all people
>  emotional regulation through self directed movement
>  source greater creativity and joy in the present
>  6 participant class size
